Empowering women and girls by providing continuing education scholarships to those who have overcome significant obstacles.
Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor is dedicated to unlocking the power and potential of women and girls through educational opportunities. One of our key initiatives is the continuing education scholarship program, which supports women who have overcome significant challenges in their lives. This scholarship is designed for those pursuing post-secondary education or who need to obtain a high school GED, helping them to advance their education and achieve their goals despite previous obstacles.

To be considered for a scholarship, an applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:

Female gender identity

Has overcome an obstacle or barrier in life

Financial need

High school graduate or GED recipient, or pursuing a GED

Does not have a graduate degree

Has been accepted to, or is currently enrolled in a certificate or license program, a trade school, or a two- or four-year college/university
How to apply
The application period for this year has closed. We will begin accepting submissions for 2027 in December, 2026.
