The Soroptimist Dream Programs ensure women and girls have access to education and training they need to reach their full potential and live their dreams. Soroptimists are committed to investing in programs that promote sustainable, measurable change for women and girls.

 

Throughout history, and still to this day, women all over the world have faced obstacles solely because of their gender. They disproportionately suffer from poverty and discrimination. It’s for this reason that Soroptimist International chooses to focus on the special challenges facing women and girls. 

 

Chartered on June 27, 1981, Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor is part of an international organization whose mission is to provide women and girls with access to education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

We believe that by joining with others and engaging in awareness, advocacy, and action in the service of our community and society, we can make the world a better place for all.

 

Soroptimist is a coined Latin word meaning “best for women,” and that’s what our club strives to achieve. Soroptimists are women at their best working to help other women to be their best. We believe in dreams and the collective power of working together to achieve them. When women and girls dare to dream, amazing things can happen. They move forward with courage to do great things for themselves, their families, their communities, and the world.
